Order Fair Trade Chocolate?

Hi all,
Serrv international, the place that we ordered Fair Trade Chocolate
from last semester has chocolate back in stock. Do we want to order
some chocolate now to sell for the rest of the semester?
If we order soon we can get it in time for the coffee farmer event.

Please let me know what you think soon.

FREE Fair Trade Coffee Friday Oct1 am

Students for Labor Justice has been working with Green Mountain Coffee and Sodexho on the MIT campus. We are please to announce that all Green Mountain outlets on Campus have switched to selling only fair trade certified coffee.
To celebrate and kick off Fair Trade month Green Mountain will have their BuzzMobile outside the student center tomorrow morning, and will be serving Fair Trade coffee for free all morning.

The point of the event is to announce to the MIT community that all MIT outlets that are supplied by Green Mountain coffee have switched to offering 100% Fair Trade coffee. That means that if you buy coffee from the following outlets you are supporting a minimum wage for coffee farmers and adding incrementally to social reform of the coffee industry.

The following outlets on campus are now 100% fair trade:

Lobdell Dining - 2nd floor of Student Center
Alpine Bagels - Ground floor of Student Center
Building 4 Cafe - bldg. 4
Biocafe - in bldg. 17
Faculty dining - Stata Center
R&D Pump - Stata Center
Broad Institute

If you ever have need to order Catering, we recommend:
Tech Catering and Alpine Bagels Catering for supplying 100% fair trade coffee.

If you normally buy coffee elsewhere, please choose the fair trade option.

FairTrade Poster

Posters like this went up all over the MIT campus during a sustained MIT FAIR TRADE WEEK in the Spring semester. This high profile poster campaign created a buzz on campus that helped get Fair Trade coffee on the agenda of the catering outlets and an eventual agreement to move to all Fair trade coffee on MIT's campus.

Welcome to the SLJ Blog

Hi all,
This is perhaps the next development of the Students for Labor Justice webspace to allow for faster posting and access to SLJ news and events.
I also thought that it was a way to keep ex-SLJers somewhat connected to what is going on.

Let me know if you think this is a good idea and if it's a sustainable addition to our MIT webpage.

Cheers,

Ian.
